Frank DeGiacomo
I became interested in art when I was in elementary school, but I didn't know it would be something I would pursue as a career. My educational journey started out on a different path as a mechanical engineer because I wanted to work at Disney World and design their roller-coasters and theme parks. I have always been a HUGE Disney fanatic - loving the movies, the parks, and the art! Disney seemed like the perfect place to combine my STEM background with my creative side.
In my pursuit of my bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, I was drawn closer to the arts. My college, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, offered an arts program but they didn't offer any art minors, so I created my own in Media Arts. As college progressed, I focused more and more on the art classes, trying to learn as much as I could, engaging art Professors to help me in independent studies. My art classes and Professors taught me a lot of art media including traditional painting and drawing, digital painting, animation, graphic design, and clay sculpture. I loved working in these media because I got a sense of what artistic creative people got to do at Disney for the movies. I thought it was so much fun!
My goal for my artwork is to make people laugh and put a smile on their face. I have been following my dream by working as a freelance artist and Social Media Content Creator for a toy company called Creative Toys LLC since college and I am looking forward to what lies ahead.
